Community Outreach Program
Here at Vintage Pet Rescue, we want to have as big of an impact on our community as possible. In addition to being a senior dog rescue, we have also developed a Community Outreach Program so we can bridge a gap in accessible pet care for fixed-income senior communities in Rhode Island. Through this initiative, we bring awareness to the importance of supporting pets within our community so they have a healthy, happy life as beloved companion animals.
Our Community Outreach Program connects with local veterinary, grooming, and pet supply professionals who volunteer their time at Community Pet Day events. Our Community Pet Days bring pet food, supplies, Ask A Vet/Tech, and grooming services directly to low-income senior housing communities throughout Rhode Island.
All supplies and services are free of charge to those who attend.
These events allow us to provide one-on-one pet care support to senior residents who may not have regular access to: a variety of pet food, supplies, services, and advice. Residents receive a Rhode Island Pet Care Resource guide to support
ongoing care for their companion animals - from accessible veterinary
care and pet food programs - to vaccine and spay/neuter clinics.
